Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.
Based on the call of God he heard in this verse Pioneers founder Ted Fletcher began a mission organization focused on reaching the unreached in 1979 (download the free audio book/ e-book and hear Ted’s story here). As Pioneers Canada prepares to celebrate 25 years in 2019 we want to intensify our Romans 15:20 one ambition, “to preach the gospel, where Christ was not known” so that more will have the opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In 2017 and 2018 we celebrated that Our God Reigns through sharing stories of hope such as churches planted amongst the Quechua people in Bolivia and Buddhist youths from the mountain villages of East Asia receiving Christ and studying the Bible together. Your gifts have equipped new teams, encouraged existing teams, and opened doors for Pioneers to seek new opportunities in the least reached regions of the world.
Did you know that there are more than 7,000 unreached people groups around the world that do not yet know Him? That’s more than 40% of the world’s population! Check out this incredible video by The Traveling Team that clearly presents our Spirit-filled calling to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
Perhaps you’re asking, “In a world seemingly so connected, how can there still be so many who have never had the opportunity to hear the Good News of the gospel?” Maybe you’re wondering, “What exactly is a people group and how do you know if they are unreached?”
There are entire cultures that have not yet heard! How will they hear if no one tells them? (Romans 10:14) The heart of Pioneers is that all will hear, that all will know.
We understand that 7,000 may seem like an overwhelming number and with this in mind, we have begun what we are calling Ask For the Nations; an interactive focus highlighting 10 of the over 7000 Unreached People Groups in the world. Over the coming months we want to share stories with you from several different people groups that are still unreached and invite you to be part of bringing the gospel message of hope to them through practical, tangible ways.
The King of heaven and earth who sits on His throne says “Ask”. As heirs to the throne (Romans 8:17) we are invited to “Ask”, to be part of God’s great love story for His people and the reconciliation of man “from every nation, from all the tribes, and peoples and languages” (Revelation 7:9).
We know your heart is that the whole world will know Him. We want you to journey with us as we Ask For The Nations. We want to share with you our heart for the 3 billion people around the world that have not yet heard the Gospel message, the good news of the hope we have in Jesus Christ, and we hope you will join us in reaching the unreached around the world. He is Lord over all the nations, and we rejoice that His incredible promise to His Son “to make the nations his inheritance” will be fulfilled. (Psalm 2:8)
How incredible is it that we are invited to be a part of the amazing story of God bringing man to Himself! Together let’s Ask For The Nations.
